Enrico Mentana weighs future at La7 amid contract uncertainty

Enrico Mentana, the long-time director of the La7 news program, faces an uncertain future with the network as his contract is set to expire on December 31, 2026. During an event in Cortina d’Ampezzo, Mentana indicated that his continued tenure may depend on the network's editorial direction. He expressed a desire for La7 to expand its audience and reach a more diverse viewership, stating, “Either La7 opens up to do something that can be seen by everyone... or I think I can also do something else.”

In addition to discussions regarding his professional future, Mentana has recently been vocal in his political commentary, criticizing the Partito Democratico (PD) for what he described as a lack of a clear vision for the future.
