Enrico Mentana's future at La7 remains uncertain

Speculation surrounds the future of Enrico Mentana at La7 as his contract is set to expire on December 31. While rumors of a departure have circulated, La7 publisher Urbano Cairo has indicated that a renewal remains possible.

In a recent interview, Cairo expressed continued respect for Mentana, noting that an agreement requires mutual willingness and that they have several months to negotiate. Mentana had previously issued an ultimatum regarding the need to make the network accessible to a broader audience.

Other potential career moves for the journalist, including a return to Mediaset or involvement in a new project with Kyriakou, have not seen concrete developments. Currently, no clear successor has emerged, as other prominent figures like Giovanni Floris appear uninterested in leaving their current roles.
