Enrique Sacco announces candidacy for Independiente presidency

Journalist and media director Enrique Sacco has officially announced his candidacy for the presidency of Club Atlético Independiente. Running under the group ‘Movimiento Independiente Auténtico’, Sacco aims to contest the elections scheduled for November.

In a video shared on social media, Sacco criticized the club’s current institutional state, stating that Independiente has repeated errors and relied on improvisation for many years. He emphasized the need for a “drastic change” characterized by professional management, planning, and new leadership. He noted that his team includes professionals in football, sports science, innovation, and economics.

The electoral process is expected to advance following a members' assembly on September 29, which will address the club's balance sheet and officially establish the election schedule. Sacco’s candidacy joins other contenders, including Daniel Bertoni of ‘Auténticos Rojos’.
