EnsoData software receives first AASM Full Autoscoring Certification
EnsoData has announced that its EnsoSleep AI scoring software is the first to receive Full Autoscoring Certification from the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM). The certification provides independent validation of the software’s performance across four critical scoring domains: sleep staging, respiratory events, arousals, and leg movements.
The AASM evaluation process assesses software performance against a dataset of more than 140 real-world polysomnography studies, using a benchmark established by a panel of 14 registered sleep technologists. While FDA clearance focuses on device equivalence, this AASM certification offers third-party validation using clinical data to ensure AI performance is comparable to manual human scoring.
This milestone aims to address technologist shortages and growing study backlogs in sleep labs. By automating the scoring process for clinician review, the technology is intended to expand diagnostic capacity and allow medical staff to focus more on patient care while maintaining clinical oversight.
