Italy water utility tariffs set to increase across multiple regions
Several Italian regional water authorities have approved tariff updates to fund infrastructure investments and manage rising energy costs.
In Campania, the Ente Idrico Campano (EIC) approved adjustments for the 2026/27 biennium. While providers like Consac, Sistemi Salerno, and Ausino will see no increases, others will face hikes: ABC (+5.90% in 2026, +5.32% in 2027), GORI (+5% annually), and ASIS (+2.61% in 2026, +3.39% in 2027). To mitigate the impact, an integrated water bonus will be funded for approximately 90,000 families in economic difficulty.
In the Marche region, the AATO 2 Marche Centro Ancona approved a regulatory scheme for 2026–2029. Tariffs are projected to rise by 7% annually through 2028, followed by a 2% annual increase until 2033. This plan supports a 320 million euro investment program through 2033 aimed at network optimization and resilience.
In Imperia, the Assembly of Mayors and the Provincial Council approved a tariff update to fund a 133.1 million euro investment program for the 2026–2030 period. In Treviso, water bills are rising following decisions by Piave Servizi and Alto Trevigiano Servizi (ATS), with ATS transitioning into a benefit corporation.
