Enterprise AI Data Platforms Advance with Lakehouse Evolution, 1,000+ Connectors

Forrester’s 2026 Data Lakehouse Wave report finds that enterprise lakehouses are moving beyond analytics storage to become the operational foundation for agentic AI. The study of 14 vendors stresses AI‑ready capabilities such as real‑time, governed data, open table formats and APIs that let autonomous agents reason, decide and act. Trust, data lineage and fine‑grained access controls are now seen as essential execution‑layer features rather than optional analytics add‑ons.

Nexla announced that its connector library has surpassed 1,000 bidirectional connectors covering databases, SaaS applications, file systems, streaming platforms, large language models and vector stores. The connectors provide both read and write access, are governed with identity verification and audit logging, and can be custom‑built in about a week. CEO and co‑founder Saket Saurabh said, “Enterprise AI doesn’t fail because the models aren’t good enough. It fails because agents can’t reach the systems that hold business information.” Nexla’s platform is SOC 2 Type II certified, positioning it as a trusted data layer for production AI agents.
