Entre Ríos eliminates privilege pensions for public officials

The province of Entre Ríos has officially promulgated Law No. 11.308, which eliminates the regime of privilege pensions for provincial, municipal, and communal public officials and employees. Signed by Governor Rogelio Frigerio and Minister Manuel Troncoso, the law mandates that such individuals can no longer access special or gratuitous pensions outside the standard retirement system.

Existing pension benefits granted prior to the law's enactment will continue to be paid. However, a strict incompatibility regime has been established: beneficiaries cannot collect these pensions while holding remunerated positions in national, provincial, municipal, or communal government roles, with the exception of teaching. If a conflict arises, beneficiaries must choose between the pension and their public salary. The Pension and Retirement Fund is authorized to suspend benefits and recover improperly received funds if beneficiaries fail to comply.

Additionally, the provincial Chamber of Deputies has granted preliminary approval to a Digital Transformation and Innovation Law. This initiative aims to create a 100 percent digital state by simplifying administrative procedures, reducing paper use, and implementing electronic document management and digital signatures.
