Atmospheric block triggers widespread rain across Uruguay, Argentina, and Paraguay
An atmospheric block is causing widespread weather instability across parts of South America, including Uruguay, Argentina, and Paraguay. In Uruguay, persistent cloudiness, humidity, and rain are expected to continue through the weekend, with conditions potentially improving by Sunday or Monday.
In Argentina, the phenomenon is driving intense showers and storms. Areas such as Entre Ríos, Buenos Aires, Santa Fe, and Córdoba are facing unsettled weather, with specific alerts for storms in northwestern Córdoba and parts of San Luis. The agricultural forecast indicates continued precipitation and instability through the weekend.
Paraguay is also experiencing significant rainfall, with accumulations in the Caaguazú department exceeding 150 mm and some regions surpassing 300 mm. While rainfall is expected to decrease starting Friday, a cool environment and isolated storms may persist in the north.
