Argentina officials negotiate electoral reform with provincial governors

In Argentina, Chief of Cabinet Diego Santilli has launched a series of negotiations with provincial governors at the Casa Rosada. The primary objective is to secure legislative support for an electoral reform aimed at eliminating the Primarias Abiertas Simultáneas y Obligatorias (PASO). Key meetings included discussions with Tucumán Governor Osvaldo Jaldo and Corrientes Governor Juan Pablo Valdés. The government seeks to consolidate majorities in Congress, particularly by winning over the Unión Cívica Radical (UCR) bloc, which holds significant influence in the Senate.

Simultaneously, in the province of Entre Ríos, Governor Rogelio Frigerio is managing various administrative priorities. Recent cabinet meetings focused on education, public works, and health. Specifically, the government is working to expand school connectivity in both urban and rural areas and has implemented new financing tools through Sidecreer. In the health sector, Entre Ríos has declared a sanitary emergency in mental health to address rising demand and increase hospital staffing and resources.

In the Dominican Republic, the Cibao Norte Regional Health Service reported that the region currently has 62 beds dedicated to mental health care. This announcement coincided with national awareness activities for World Mental Health Day, as part of a broader national plan to increase crisis care beds.
