Entre Ríos judge criticizes proposed labor code reform
María Gabriela López Arango, vice president of the Association of Magistrates of Entre Ríos, has criticized a proposed reform to the provincial Labor Procedural Code. She described the initiative as “partial,” noting that it focuses heavily on creating a body of independent medical experts with fixed remuneration rather than providing a comprehensive overhaul of the labor judiciary.
López Arango warned that certain aspects of the project could face significant resistance from legal professionals. Specifically, she highlighted the proposal to eliminate the mandatory employer deposit in first-instance judgments, stating it is a mechanism used to “ensure to some extent the certain collection of the worker.”
