Argentina's Rural Expo in Palermo hosts officials, awards and sector showcases
The 138th Exposición Rural de Palermo (July 16‑26) gathered thousands of visitors at the historic fairgrounds in Buenos Aires, positioning the event as the country's premier showcase for agriculture, livestock and agro‑industry.
Economy Minister Luis Caputo attended the expo, meeting with Rural Society leaders and confirming that no new reductions in export retentions would be announced, saying existing measures were already in place and further cuts would depend on a larger fiscal surplus.
The exhibition highlighted a series of sector awards: Entre Ríos producers received recognitions for genetic improvement; the “Noche Braford” auction recorded high prices for prized cattle; Gustavo Mato and Cabaña La Rubeta earned the Gran Campeona Hembra Angus; and cabañas from Corrientes, Santa Cruz, San Luis and other provinces displayed their best livestock and products.
Additional participants included the Automóvil Club Argentino presenting its federal‑service stand, and regional tourism delegations promoting local attractions, underscoring the expo’s role as a hub for both commercial deals and policy dialogue within Argentina’s agricultural economy.
