Entre Ríos reports 10,000 gender violence complaints annually

The Superior Tribunal de Justicia (STJ) in Entre Ríos, Argentina, has convened representatives from universities, professional colleges, and civil society organizations to discuss the Inter-institutional System for Addressing Violence (SIAV). The goal is to incorporate diverse perspectives to improve the tool and address the growing issue of gender-based violence.

Laura Soage, a member of the STJ, reported that the province receives approximately 10,000 gender violence complaints per year. Soage noted that despite state efforts, the problem continues to grow and the current volume of cases is nearly unmanageable.

She highlighted that institutional fragmentation often prevents effective protection for victims. Because different state agencies and judicial bodies frequently operate without adequate coordination, valuable information is lost, and protective measures often fail to reach those in need of immediate safety.
