Argentina launches major infrastructure tenders and economic reviews

Argentina is undertaking several major infrastructure and economic developments across various provinces. In Buenos Aires, the Vialidad department has launched a tender to transform a 47-kilometer section of Route 11, connecting Mar de Ajó and Pinamar, into a highway. The project, divided into two lots with a total budget of $154 billion, will be financed by a loan from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and is expected to take 540 days.

In Chubut, the national government has approved a sovereign guarantee for a $150 million CAF loan to fund a new aqueduct system for Comodoro Rivadavia, Rada Tilly, and Sarmiento. Additionally, the province is finalizing the double-track road between Puerto Madryn and Trelew with an investment exceeding $8 billion. In Neuquén, the provincial government has announced over $61 billion in investments for water, sanitation, and tourism projects, including interventions in San Martín de los Andes.

On the economic front, the Argentine government is navigating its third review with the IMF. While optimistic about meeting reserve targets, officials have noted the possibility of requesting a waiver due to missing primary surplus goals in the first half of the year. Meanwhile, regional infrastructure projects continue in Entre Ríos, Córdoba, and Río Negro, focusing on sanitation, water defense, and urban development.
