Entrepreneurship initiatives support small businesses and youth in Colombia and Mexico
In Colombia, the Santander government, through the Secretary of Social Development, has implemented the ‘Santander Contigo’ strategy to support local entrepreneurs. Over one hundred individuals involved in sectors such as agriculture, food preparation, textiles, and commerce received essential equipment and supplies. Distributed items included refrigerators, sewing machines, stoves, and shelving to help improve production processes and increase income opportunities for small business owners.
In Mexico, children in Huajuapan de León participated in the second Business Kids Entrepreneurship Fair. Following a five-week training program covering leadership, finance, marketing, and teamwork, approximately ten minors presented their own brands and products. The initiative aims to foster creativity and business interest from an early age, allowing participants to potentially join an international community of young entrepreneurs.
