Entrepreneurship programs drive business growth in Honduras and Guatemala

In Honduras, the fifth edition of the ‘Fundación Terra te Impulsa-Emprende Pronto’ award has been launched. This initiative, a collaboration between Fundación Terra and Tiendas Pronto, aims to support entrepreneurs in the pre-elaborated food and beverage sectors. Six entrepreneurs will receive in-kind seed capital, and five will gain access to new commercial spaces. The program includes specialized training for 20 participants in partnership with Impact Hub, covering topics such as food safety, logistics, and sales. Cash prizes for the top winners range from 30,000 to 50,000 lempiras.

In Guatemala, Fundación Bi celebrated the graduation of the eighth cohort of its ScaleUp program, focusing on businesses in Quetzaltenango and Totonicapán. Developed in alliance with the Kirzner Entrepreneurship Center at Universidad Francisco Marroquín, the program utilizes methodologies from Harvard University and Babson College to help small and medium-sized enterprises scale sustainably. Participating companies reported an average sales increase of 31.88% and the creation of 33 new permanent jobs.
