Entrepreneurship trends show rising intentions in Spain and social skill development

Recent data from the GEM report, prepared by the Observatorio del Emprendimiento de España and Enisa, indicates that the intention to start a business in Spain over the next three years has risen to 13.8%, up two percentage points from the previous year. While recent entrepreneurial initiatives grew from 7.2% to 7.8%, the rate of business closures or transfers has also increased since 2020.

Financial expert Toño Álvarez advises entrepreneurs to seek business models that do not require the owner to be constantly present to function, warning that a poor choice can result in the owner becoming the lowest-paid worker in their own company. He emphasizes finding activities capable of growth without constant dependence on the owner's time.

In a separate discussion regarding entrepreneurial development, perspectives suggest that competencies such as resilience and creativity are not merely taught through methodologies like Canvas or Design Thinking, but are constructed through life experiences, family contexts, and social networks. This social dimension is noted as a critical factor for youth entrepreneurship in regions like Chile, where economic uncertainty often drives entrepreneurial activity.
