Enugu Air runway excursion at Benin Airport avoids casualties, officials stress safety

On July 23, 2026, an Embraer E170 operating Enugu Air Flight 4264 veered off the runway at Benin Airport in Nigeria. The aircraft came to rest on a grassy area, which the airline’s chief executive, Tolu Ita, said helped prevent a more serious accident.
