Environmental education initiatives launch across Latin America and Spain

Various educational and scientific initiatives are launching across Latin America and Spain to address environmental challenges.

In Argentina, Biofábrica Misiones will host an international course on advanced plant biotechnology and large-scale propagation, featuring specialists from Argentina and Cuba. Additionally, teachers in Jujuy can access free virtual training on climate change and biodiversity organized by Fundación Vida Silvestre Argentina and the Ministry of Environment.

In Chile, the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso has concluded a diploma program in climate change education, providing 40 teachers with six months of support to implement local environmental projects. In Ecuador, UNICEF, in partnership with the Ministry of Environment and Energy, is conducting its fourth Climate and Biodiversity Academy, training 80 youths to develop community-based environmental projects.

In Spain, the Canary Islands government has opened registration for the IDAFE Project for the 2026-2027 term. This initiative targets public primary and secondary schools, focusing on helping students develop school strategies to manage high-temperature episodes.
