Environmental education programs expand in schools
Educational institutions are implementing various environmental programs to foster sustainability and ecological awareness among students.
In Colombia, a new team of ‘Vigías Ambientales’ (Environmental Watchdogs) has been established for the 2026–2027 period. Working alongside the School Environmental Project (PRAE), these students from various grade levels will propose initiatives and promote habits to strengthen environmental culture within their campus.
In Spain, the ‘Tú Haces Alicante’ program, driven by the Department of Street Cleaning and Waste Management and Netial, offers practical workshops. These include ‘Cuento y Re-Ciclo’ for younger children, an escape room activity called ‘Reciclactiva-T’ regarding urban waste, and ‘RAEE Rap,’ a workshop focused on managing electronic waste. Additionally, the organization Ecoembes is expanding its ‘Naturaliza’ project to include more educational centers, building on its history of training teachers and reaching over 170,000 students.
