E.ON Romania commits €40 million to AI‑driven digitalisation as insurers accelerate AI adoption

E.ON Energie România announced a €40 million investment plan through 2030 to expand digital services, including AI‑based virtual assistants on its Myline platform, AI‑powered search tools, and an integrated sales platform. The rollout aims to enhance real‑time, personalised customer interactions and support the company’s growing portfolio of over 3.5 million customers.

At the same time, Romania’s insurance market is undergoing a rapid AI‑driven transformation. Industry leaders highlighted that AI and hybrid distribution models are reshaping underwriting, pricing, claims handling and customer experience. The sector posted a 10 % rise in gross premiums to 25.8 billion lei in 2025, with life and health insurance seeing strong growth. Insurtech financing worldwide, heavily directed toward AI solutions, is seen as a catalyst for further innovation in the Romanian market.

Both developments illustrate a broader shift toward advanced digital technologies across Romanian energy and insurance firms, aiming to improve efficiency, expand services and meet evolving consumer expectations.
