EPCG advances Gvozd 2 wind farm construction in Montenegro
Elektroprivreda Crne Gore (EPCG) is advancing the second phase of the Gvozd wind farm project on the Krnovska plateau. Construction is currently underway, with the pouring of the second of three foundations for this phase nearing completion.
The project, valued at nearly 26 million euros, will add 21 MW of installed capacity and is expected to produce approximately 63 GWh of green energy annually. Once the second phase is finished, the total installed capacity of the Gvozd wind farm will reach 75.6 MW, with a total annual production exceeding 200 GWh. This output is estimated to be sufficient to meet the energy needs of approximately 35,000 households.
EPCG General Director Zdravko Dragaš stated that the project is vital for Montenegro’s energy future, aiming to increase energy security and reduce dependence on market fluctuations through domestic renewable sources. The Gvozd 2 project is being implemented in cooperation with the company Nordex.
