EPCG advances renewable energy projects and French partnerships
Elektroprivreda Crne Gore (EPCG) is advancing several major energy projects and international partnerships to support the country's energy transition.
In Paris, EPCG leadership met with French energy companies Akuo and Qair to strengthen cooperation in renewable energy and develop new projects. These discussions aim to move from existing memorandums of understanding toward concrete investment models and technological applications.
On the infrastructure front, EPCG is moving forward with two significant hydroelectric developments. The company is opening bids for professional supervision of the Otilovići small hydroelectric plant project, valued at approximately 100,000 euros. Additionally, work is being prepared for the installation of an eighth unit at the Perućica hydroelectric plant. This 40 million euro project, financed by Germany's KfW Bank, is expected to add 50 GWh of electricity to the Montenegrin energy system and improve grid stability by providing essential balancing energy.
