Epic Games announces Fortnite Fortnitemares 2026 with Five Nights at Freddy's crossover

Epic Games has released a cinematic trailer for the 2026 Fortnitemares event, confirming that the annual Halloween celebration will return to Fortnite on October 1. A major highlight of this year's update is a collaboration with the horror franchise Five Nights at Freddy's.

Players can expect Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria to be added as a new location on the map. The crossover will include characters such as Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy, who are reportedly expected to appear as bosses within the game rather than just cosmetic skins.

In addition to the Five Nights at Freddy's content, the event features several other horror-themed collaborations, including Slender Man, Beetlejuice, and Freddy Krueger from A Nightmare on Elm Street. Other mentioned titles include The Purge, Black Clover, and Obsession. While the event itself is free to participate in, specific character skins and accessories will be available for purchase using V-Bucks.
