Fortnite Fortnitemares 2026 event

Overview

Epic Games announced the Fortnitemares 2026 event, a Halloween-themed update for Fortnite scheduled to begin on October 1. The announcement highlighted a major collaboration with the horror franchise ‘Five Nights at Freddy’s’, which was set to introduce Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria to the game map and feature characters like Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy as bosses.

Following the launch, the event introduced several gameplay features and collaborations. In addition to the ‘Five Nights at Freddy’s’ integration, where players can fight or control animatronics, the update included a collaboration with ‘A Nightmare on Elm Street’ featuring Freddy Krueger as a boss in the ‘Nightmare Neighborhood’ area. Defeating this boss rewards players with ‘Freddy’s Nightmare Claws’.

The update also implemented new mechanics called “glitches” for tactical advantages, the return of ‘Horde Rush’ mode, and new weaponry such as the ‘Bonebreaker Submachine Gun’.
