EPR Sul de Minas warns of heavy rain on regional highways
The concessionaire EPR Sul de Minas has issued a weather alert for motorists due to forecasted heavy rainfall across the highways it manages in the South Minas region. Based on data from Climatempo, precipitation levels are expected to increase starting Thursday, September 10, with the most intense rainfall predicted for Friday, September 11, and Saturday, September 12.
On Friday, several municipalities are expected to see accumulations exceeding 20 mm, with the highest volumes predicted for Itajubá and Piranguinho (35 mm), Santa Rita do Sapucaí (33.8 mm), and Cachoeira de Minas and Conceição dos Ouros (33.5 mm). Saturday is also expected to see significant rainfall, particularly in Bueno Brandão (36.3 mm) and Ouro Fino (33 mm).
EPR Sul de Minas advises drivers to exercise extreme caution. Recommended safety measures include reducing speed, respecting signage, maintaining a safe distance from other vehicles, avoiding sudden braking, and ensuring vehicle components such as tires, brakes, headlights, and windshield wipers are in good condition.
