Equinix signs fourth solar power purchase agreement in Singapore

Equinix has signed its fourth renewable energy power purchase agreement (PPA) in Singapore with Flo Energy Singapore. This agreement aims to expand the clean energy supply for the company’s growing data center operations in the city-state.

The deal will initially add at least 11.5 megawatt-peak (MWp) of solar capacity by utilizing solar installations on industrial and commercial rooftops. The contract includes an option to expand the capacity to as much as 50 MWp. This move is part of Equinix’s broader strategy to increase its renewable energy portfolio in Singapore to 215 MWp by 2028.

These combined agreements are expected to generate approximately 250,000 MWh of renewable electricity annually. The initiative addresses the increasing energy demands of digital infrastructure and the regulatory pressure for lower-carbon electricity in a region with limited land for utility-scale renewable projects.
