Equinor and Polenergia advance Baltic 2 and 3 offshore wind projects

Equinor and Polenergia have reported significant progress on the Baltic 2 and Baltic 3 offshore wind farms in the Polish Baltic Sea. The developers have completed the installation of 100 turbine foundations and two offshore substations. Additionally, 120 km of export cables have been laid, and most onshore cable lines are in place.

Work has transitioned to the installation of inter-array cables for the Baltic 2 project. Onshore, construction continues at a transformer station near Ustka and a service base in Łeba, the latter of which was completed in October. The heavy-lift vessel Thialf is scheduled to return to the site to install the main components of the offshore transformer station for Baltic 2 before the end of the year.

The combined projects have a total capacity of 1440 MW and an estimated value of approximately 27 billion PLN. They are expected to deliver their first electricity in 2027, reaching full commercial operation in 2028.
