ERC leader Junqueras credits party's utility for poll surge in Catalonia

Catalan separatist party ERC said its support rose sharply in recent surveys, with the Centre d'Estudis d'Opinió projecting 24‑26 seats in a future parliamentary election, up from its current 20. Party president Oriol Junqueras told reporters that "for the first time in a long time we find ourselves with polls that are positive for ERC and for Catalonia," attributing the increase to ERC’s role in amnesty negotiations and a new financing model.

Junqueras also highlighted the implementation of a 400‑million‑euros four‑year plan agreed with the Generalitat, announced by President Salvador Illa, and signalled forthcoming news on a partial debt write‑off for the FLA pending Congress approval. He framed ERC as the “best answer to all the extreme right” parties, while urging the European Court of Justice to apply the pending amnesty ruling scheduled for 16 July.
