Erciyes High Altitude Training Center begins athletics track construction

Construction is underway on a new athletics track at the Erciyes High Altitude Training Center in Kayseri, Turkey. Ahmet Karadağ, President of the Turkish Athletics Federation, stated that the facility is intended to become a premier global high-performance and training hub.

Karadağ noted that while athletes have traditionally traveled to countries like Kenya and Ethiopia for high-altitude training, this new facility will provide a world-class alternative. The project includes the installation of a tartan track, which is expected to be completed within 10 to 15 days. The center aims to support athletes in breaking national records and hosting international competitions, particularly benefiting sprint events due to the ideal altitude.
