Erdogan Confronted by New Turkish Opposition Party Yeni Parti
The newly formed Turkish party Yeni Parti, led by Ozgur Ozel, has rapidly amassed parliamentary strength, securing 91 seats and attracting hundreds of former deputies. The party is organizing the transfer of more than 200 municipalities to its control, aiming to build local administrative experience and broaden its grassroots network.
Yeni Parti positions itself as the central opposition force to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, openly challenging the ruling establishment and the traditional opposition party CHP. By claiming the role of the main anti‑Erdogan pole, the party seeks political legitimacy based on electoral support rather than court rulings or party symbols.
