Ersin Destanoğlu joins Al-Jazira after leaving Beşiktaş
Turkish goalkeeper Ersin Destanoğlu, 25, ended his contract with Beşiktaş on 30 June 2026 and signed a three‑year deal with United Arab Emirates side Al‑Jazira. The move was completed on a free transfer, with Destanoğlu set to remain at the Abu Dhabi club until 2029 and hoping for regular first‑team action.
A product of Beşiktaş’s youth system, Destanoğlu made 151 official appearances for the Turkish club, including 32 league matches in the 2025‑26 season where he kept ten clean sheets. He was part of the squad that won the Turkish league in 2020‑21 and has been called up to the national team. The transfer follows interest from several European clubs, but the goalkeeper chose the Middle‑East opportunity to secure playing time.
