ERT CEO Konstantinos Papavasileiou resigns from position

Konstantinos Papavasileiou has resigned from his position as CEO of the Greek public broadcaster ERT, ending his tenure before the scheduled completion of his five-year term in 2027.

While the official reason provided for the resignation is personal, reports suggest the decision was influenced by internal disagreements and tensions with ERT leadership, including President Giannis Papadopoulos. Additionally, Papavasileiou reportedly received a professional offer from Wide Media Group, the parent company of the television station Action 24.

Following the resignation, ERT will follow legal procedures to fill the vacancy. The position will be held temporarily by an internal selection for a period of up to six months, after which a permanent CEO will be appointed through the ASEP selection process.
