Erzurum children participate in climate awareness program

As part of preparations for COP31, the Erzurum Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Services organized an awareness program for children focused on climate change and sustainability. The initiative is part of a simultaneous nationwide effort across 81 provinces coordinated by the Ministry of Family and Social Services.

The program aimed to educate children on environmental protection, sustainable production, efficient use of natural resources, and digital waste. Participants engaged in hands-on learning by visiting the Aziziye Municipality thermal-supported tomato greenhouses to observe production methods and the use of thermal resources in sustainable agriculture.

Following the greenhouse visit, children participated in the sales process at the Ilıca market. This allowed them to experience the full cycle from production to marketing, fostering awareness regarding local production, conscious consumption, and the prevention of waste.
