Erzurum launches assistant pharmacist training program
A vocational training program for 15 assistant pharmacists is being launched in Erzurum, Turkey. This initiative follows a cooperation protocol between the Turkish Employment Agency (İŞKUR) and the Turkish Pharmacists Association (TEB), implemented locally through the Erzurum Provincial Directorate of Labor and Employment and the Erzurum 13th Regional Chamber of Pharmacists.
The course is scheduled to run from September 7, 2026, to February 24, 2027. It aims to provide newly entering pharmacists with field experience and address the demand for qualified personnel in local pharmacies. To support the program, necessary expense payments for trainees will be set at 30 percent above the standard rate, and instructor fees have also been increased to encourage participation from experts.
Abdulkadir Mutlu, Director of the Erzurum Provincial Directorate of Labor and Employment, stated that such collaborations allow for the identification of labor market needs directly from the field to develop appropriate training and employment models.
