Assistant pharmacist training programs in Turkey

Overview

In late August and early September 2026, vocational training programs for assistant pharmacists were launched in different Turkish provinces through cooperation between the Turkish Employment Agency (İŞKUR) and local chambers of pharmacists.

In Manisa, a protocol was signed to train 20 participants from September 1, 2026, through February 18, 2027. The initiative seeks to provide professional experience to new pharmacists and meet the demand for qualified human resources. To incentivize the program, trainee expense payments were set at 30 percent higher than standard rates, alongside increased instructor fees.

Following this model, Erzurum launched a similar program on September 7, 2026, for 15 participants. This course is scheduled to run until February 24, 2027, and utilizes the same financial incentives for trainees and instructors. Abdulkadir Mutlu, Director of the Erzurum Provincial Directorate of Labor and Employment, noted that such collaborations help identify labor market needs to develop effective training and employment models.
