Erzurum Promotion Days festival begins in Çiğli, İzmir
The Erzurum Promotion Days event has commenced in Çiğli, İzmir, organized by the Ege Bölgesi Erzurum Dernekler Birliği Federasyonu. Running from October 6 to October 11, the festival aims to showcase the culture, history, and gastronomy of Erzurum to the Aegean region.
The event features stalls offering authentic regional products, including cağ kebab, kadayıf dolması, and various cheeses. Zakir Salmanoğlu, President of the Federation, stated that the vendors are brought directly from Erzurum to ensure authenticity. Participation includes representatives from the Erzurum Governor's Office, the Erzurum Metropolitan Municipality, and approximately 12 district municipalities.
In addition to culinary offerings, the program includes evening musical performances by Erzurum-based artists and folk dance displays, such as those by the Ege University Ekin Dance Group. The initiative seeks to bridge the gap between the Aegean and Erzurum regions while preserving cultural heritage for younger generations.
