Turkey reports multiple violent incidents in Erzurum, Istanbul, and Fatih
Multiple violent incidents have been reported across Turkey involving shootings and stabbings.
In Erzurum's Yakutiye district, an armed conflict stemming from a divorce dispute resulted in 12 injuries, including one police officer. Three suspects were detained following the incident where gunfire was directed from a balcony. Erzurum Governor Aydın Baruş confirmed that several victims remain in critical condition in intensive care.
In Istanbul's Fatih district, a shooting at a currency exchange office left two people dead and two others injured. Investigations revealed the attack was fueled by a long-standing grudge related to a previous fraud case. Police seized 2.58 million counterfeit US dollars and recovered weapons, including one thrown into the sea.
Additionally, in Istanbul's Bağcılar district, a dispute that began on social media escalated into a knife attack. Two individuals were injured, and a 15-year-old suspect was arrested and subsequently detained following the incident.
