Overview

A fatal shooting occurred at a currency exchange office in the Sofçuhan Business Center within Istanbul’s Fatih district, resulting in the deaths of Adnan Aksoy and Kadir Aksoy, and wounding two others. Initial investigations suggested the violence may have been triggered by a dispute involving an attempt to exchange 1.9 million dollars in counterfeit currency.

Subsequent reports clarified that the attack in Fatih was fueled by a long-standing grudge related to a previous fraud case. During the investigation, police seized 2.58 million counterfeit US dollars and recovered weapons, including one that had been thrown into the sea.
