Eskişehir and Trabzon grapple with escalating traffic congestion

In Eskişehir, Saadet Party Tepebaşı district chairman Muhammed Ali Köse says the city’s traffic density has become a serious problem, with journeys that previously took a minute now requiring 15‑20 minutes. He argues that solutions have been proposed but not implemented, and adds that drivers are increasingly upset about traffic fines, especially commercial vehicle owners.

In Trabzon, the arrival of summer has revived severe traffic jams on main routes such as Meydan, Moloz, Kalkınma, Değirmendere, Tanjant and the old Erzurum road. The surge in private cars, limited parking, and heavy‑truck access to the city centre exacerbate congestion. Authorities are urged to promote public transport and restrict heavy‑tonnage vehicles during peak periods, but lasting relief remains elusive.
