Two convicted murderers arrested in Eskişehir, Turkey

Police forces in Eskişehir captured two fugitives, G. Ç. and B. Y., who were serving fixed-term sentences for murder. Both had lengthy sentences—G. Ç. with 50 years and B. Y. with 48 years, 1 month and 20 days—issued for killings and related violent crimes.

The arrests were made during an operation on 23 June 2026 coordinated by the provincial police’s Public Order Department and the Odunpazarı district branch. G. Ç. was convicted of intentionally killing a man who intervened while he assaulted his girlfriend in 2008 and also injuring a third person. B. Y. was convicted of intentional homicide and property damage. After being taken into custody, the two suspects were processed by the authorities and transferred to prison.
