Turkey faces hot temperatures and scattered thunderstorms with strong winds

Meteorology General Directorate forecasts a week of hot weather across Turkey, with temperatures rising above seasonal norms. Interior and eastern provinces are expected to see highs of 35‑38 °C, while western cities such as Ankara, Istanbul and Izmir will reach 27‑33 °C. Scattered downpours and thunderstorms are predicted for the interior north‑east, the eastern Black Sea coast and parts of the eastern Anatolia region, including Ardahan, Kars and Erzurum. The south‑east remains dry. Strong north‑easterly winds of 40‑60 km/h are forecast for the Marmara south‑west and the northern Aegean coast, prompting warnings about possible disruptions, fallen trees and roof damage. Authorities advise the public to stay alert, avoid prolonged sun exposure in the hottest areas, and follow local warnings for wind‑related hazards.
