Eskişehir shooting: Man arrested after fatal chase and shotgun killing

A fatal shooting occurred in the Odunpazarı district of Eskişehir after a dispute between two groups escalated into violence. During the altercation, 21-year-old Abdülkadir Çelik chased 24-year-old Muratcan Altun through the streets and shot him in the chest with a pump-action shotgun. Altun succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.

Following the incident, police located and detained Çelik at a residence approximately 50 meters from the scene. Upon his arrest, Çelik reportedly made several provocative statements to the press, including, “He deserved it, brother, it was necessary,” and “You give people what they deserve.”

While Çelik initially claimed to have discarded the weapon in an empty lot, authorities recovered the shotgun hidden inside his home. In total, seven suspects have been processed by law enforcement; Çelik has been arrested on charges of intentional murder, while six others were released under judicial control.
