Eskişehir Symphony Orchestra performs Beethoven tribute concert

The Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality Symphony Orchestra held a special concert series to commemorate the 200th anniversary of Ludwig van Beethoven’s death. Conducted by Orhun Orhon, the performance featured soprano Greta Feeney and pianist Cihan Yücel as soloists.

The first half of the program included various arias by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Antonio Salieri. Notably, the repertoire included less common works by Salieri and Mozart’s concert aria K. 505, which emphasizes a musical dialogue between the soprano and the piano.

The second half of the concert focused on Beethoven’s Symphony No. 2, composed between 1801 and 1802. The performance concluded with a scheduled follow-up concert on October 9, 2026, as part of the orchestra's ongoing seasonal programming.
