Eskişehir Symphony Orchestra performs works by Beethoven, Weber, and Elgar

The Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality Symphony Orchestra held a special concert titled ‘Legend and Future’ to commemorate the 200th anniversaries of the deaths of composers Ludwig van Beethoven and Carl Maria von Weber.

Conducted by Gürer Aykal with pianist Başar Can Kıvrak as soloist, the program included Weber’s ‘Oberon Overture’ and Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 3. As an encore, Kıvrak performed a piece by composer A. A. Saygun in anticipation of Republic Day. The second half of the concert featured Edward Elgar’s ‘Enigma Variations’.

Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ayşe Ünlüce attended the event and expressed gratitude to the conductor, soloist, and the entire orchestra for bringing these classical masterpieces to the local audience.
