Yomra, Trabzon launches Turkey’s longest mountain‑sled tourism hub
A new mountain‑sled centre opened in the Yomra district of Trabzon Province, featuring an 850‑metre track that is the longest in the Eastern Black Sea region. The facility, built at a cost of roughly 300 million Turkish lira, includes three‑storey restaurants and cafés, children’s play areas, a 200‑metre zip‑line, a large swing and administrative offices.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Trabzon Metropolitan Mayor Ahmet Metin Genç, Yomra Mayor Mustafa Bıyık, Yomra District Governor Oğuzhan Ocak and Ortahisar Mayor Ahmet Kaya, along with the investors Ömer Faruk Çiçek, İsmail Çiçek and business partner Fatih Yıldırım. Officials said the centre will diversify local tourism, extend visitors’ stays and generate more than 100 new jobs.
