Knife violence in Turkey

In late July 2026, police investigations in Turkey recorded two separate knife‑related incidents. On 21 July, a family dispute in Eskişehir’s Emek Mahallesi and a separate stabbing in Trabzon’s Ortahisar district resulted in multiple injuries. In both cases the attackers fled, prompting manhunts by local authorities.

Six days later, on 27 July, another knife attack occurred at a tram stop on İki Eylül Avenue in Eskişehir’s Odunpazarı district. The suspect initially escaped but surrendered to police after contacting emergency services. The victim received on‑site first aid and was hospitalized. The incident sparked local criticism over inadequate security at the busy tram stop.

Together, the snapshots illustrate a series of knife‑related assaults across Turkish cities, with authorities responding by pursuing fleeing suspects and, in the later case, securing a surrender.
