Esporte Clube Bahia signs Daniel Lima to professional contract

Esporte Clube Bahia has signed its first professional contract with youth prospect Daniel Lima. The 19-year-old left-back, who has been with the club for seven years, has extended his commitment to the team until January 2028.

Lima has achieved significant success within the club’s youth categories, winning multiple Campeonato Baiano Sub-20 titles between 2023 and 2026, as well as the Sub-17 state championship in 2024. Most recently, he contributed to the club’s Copa do Nordeste Sub-20 victory.

Having already made his professional debut in 2025 during a Copa do Nordeste match against Confiança, Lima is viewed as a key part of Bahia’s strategy to transition talent from its academy to the senior squad. In the 2026 season, he recorded 27 appearances, two goals, and six assists.
