Esporte Clube Bahia youth academy development

Overview

Esporte Clube Bahia is actively developing its youth academy, known as ‘Pivetes de Aço’, through talent scouting and strategic player acquisitions. Technical observer João Alves from the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) recently evaluated the club’s age groups from Sub-12 to Sub-20, praising the formation processes and the high potential of the athletes. To bolster the Sub-17 squad, the club signed defender Kayke Bueno on loan and secured permanent contracts for attackers João Pedro and Jordy.

Building on these developmental efforts, the club has transitioned youth talent to the professional level. Prospect Daniel Lima, a 19-year-old left-back who has been with the club for seven years, signed his first professional contract, extending his commitment until January 2028. Lima, who has won multiple state and regional youth titles, is a central figure in Bahia’s strategy to integrate academy players into the senior squad.
