EsSalud deploys mobile hospital and neonatal ICU in Peru's Amazon

EsSalud’s mobile unit, Hospital Perú, will operate in Chachapoyas, Amazonas, from 4 to 11 July, providing more than 4,100 specialist consultations. Services include internal medicine, ophthalmology, gastroenterology, dentistry, ultrasound, endoscopy, densitometry, nursing and laboratory testing, and are offered at the Plazuela de la Independencia. The initiative is part of EsSalud’s flexible‑offer strategy, which has already delivered over 12,000 consultations nationwide across Lima, Callao and several regional networks.

In the Ucayali region, EsSalud will open a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and an Intermediate Pediatric Care unit at Hospital II Pucallpa. The new units aim to deliver high‑tech, safe care for newborns and critically ill children, reduce costly air transfers to Lima, and strengthen intensive‑care capacity across the Peruvian Amazon.
