EssilorLuxottica launches Nuance Audio Plus hearing eyewear
EssilorLuxottica has launched Nuance Audio Plus, an evolution of its open-ear acoustic eyewear designed for adults with mild to moderate hearing loss. The FDA-cleared device integrates directional microphones and beamforming technology with open-ear speakers, allowing users to amplify conversations while keeping their ears unobstructed.
The updated model features improved speech clarity, physical volume controls, and approximately 10 hours of battery life. Users can also manage compatible iPhone calls directly through the frames and customize audio settings via a dedicated app. To reduce the stigma often associated with medical hearing devices, the technology is housed in three classic frame styles available in five colors, designed to resemble conventional eyewear.
In Italy, the product became available in mid-September through retailers such as Salmoiraghi & Viganò and Grand Vision, with recommended prices starting at 899 euros depending on lens configuration. In the United States, the starting price is approximately $829, positioning the device as a premium wearable distributed through optical and hearing-care professionals.
